Fair balance in Small Space Ads

Indication/fair balance placement

Case 13: Static ad and rotating ad (two locations on the same screen).

Not acceptable

468 x 60 Static ad

In this example a claim remains on screen at all times on the static banner. The user does not need to interact with the banner or wait for the copy to cycle through in order to consume the claim on this banner. Placing the indication and fair balance on the rotating banner downplays the relative importance of this information. It is also unacceptable for the disclaimer to be visible for a fraction of the time that the claim it is qualifying is visible.

240 x 400 Frame 1 of 3

Case 14:Static ad and rotating ad (two locations on the same screen).

Acceptable

468 x 60 Frame 1 of 3

In this example the indication and fair balance remain on screen at all times on the static banner. It is the claim copy which cycles through the various frames.
